Although I remember this one being unbearably powdery to me in the past and now I think it's a lot more watery. I continue to wear it from time to time, but this perfume is a shadow of it's former self. 
Amazing Grace smells very romantic. It's not fruity or sweet, nice in this case. 
We are all differentthat is clear. :). Shampoo, very distinctively shampoo-y. This smells very fresh and light. It was soft, sweet, airy, and rather light, but still noticeable. Leaving a review for both "Amazing Grace" and "Live Joyously" (which isn't in the database). I sprayed this on at the drugstore and then came home and washed my hands. I blind-bought amazing grace edp thinking it was a safe blind-buy and it is not. It is floral, powdery, citrusy, clean, feminine and subtle, with a distinct rose. I spray more than once in a day, which works for me since a 2oz bottle is only $62. Still, I would ask for more longevity for the price I am paying (which is high, considering I must order online and pay a lot for shipping, as Philosophy products aren't sold in my country). Like Simply Belle, Amazing Grace EDT is straight up glue (I probably had some amazing glue in my childhood because several perfumes smell like glue to me) with a hint of soap. I dont know if that would make a difference in longevity and projection, but Im really disappointed in this scent. I'm glad I did, because it helped me ween myself into wearing the fragrance. I love this scent! 
Then you get the musk. That being said, I'm sometimes confused by the "people who like, may also like" column that I see on the website. This is a very green perfume that evokes memories of a beautiful spring day. I really like it. A fresh clean scent, and so much so it smells like soap for about a half hour then it is gone. However, due to its weak performance and projection, it is more of a scent to be worn at home than on a date. At first spray, I was like Justin Bieber in that tiktok sound: immediately no. It's too bad, because it seems like it would be a wonderful classic feminine smell and the label is so pretty, understated but lovely. However it is not complex or super perfumey. Yuck. I mean, how is that even possible? Amazing Grace was launched in 1996. It's a shame Coty went ahead and ruined a scent that was a winner. This perfume is a great example of something that looks amazing on paper and is a hot mess when it gets on my skin. It's such a clean and feminine fragrance but I also find it to be a bit strong so I wear it away from my face so as to only catch occasional whiffs of it throughout the day. No grace at all. I wanted to like this so much but it fell flat. And it has zero staying power. I pick this perfume when I need a little motivation or pick me up, it's a beautiful youthful scent. Great scent for the office if you work in close quarters or where your co-workers may have allergies. I am yet to skintest, but on a card this has thesamefeel as issey The Scent, not as strong though. I can try 100 perfumes and always go back to this one. Scents trigger my migraines, so I have to be very careful,but this is perfect. They are soft and feminine and comforting. They never said anything about me smelling "feminine". Someone in this thread called this fragrance "challenging" and it's so true. Great for people who do not like strong perfumes or need something extremely light for their job. It's seasonless and can be worn anywhere without offending anyone. I love it, but it has little to no longetivity in my experience. I'm washing it off now at minute 25. Like I said it is a beautiful scent on others. I did obtain a first run of Coty when they got their hands on this company and it smelled just like my pre coty. Someone whos into light, clean and crisp white floral fragrances would love this. Very clean, fresh and light. The citrus lasts about an hour. 
I thought omg how come I smell so much this shampoo. It's a nice floral. Amazing Grace seems to be simple. Non the less I just adore it every time. The only good thing is that this frangence is incredibly weak and watered down. I think it would have been my favourite scent if I'd got it in my younger days. Good thing is its light enough that I cant smell it. I will say I really don't smell any citrus. It smells closely to the gap fragrance near. I do love this fragrance, only it is very close to the skin and does not seem to last on me. I love the scent but it's really weak. Amazing Grace by Philosophy is a Floral fragrance for women. After two hours, I can barely detect the slightest hint of the scent. I keep this on hand. Safe, un-offensive, something for the masses, enjoyed it. The only upside to this fleeting fragrance after reformulation is that it is less powdery on my skin, even though other reviews note a strong baby powder scent. At the most, you can smell the base note up to three hours later, but not much longer. You pay for the brand as the scent itself could be made much more cheaply I imagine. It's meh. Citrusy, powdery, inoffensive. This floral is clean and just a bit heavier than a lot of what is out there right now. I was so happy until an hour later when it completely disappeared. It's one of those scents that you can't quite put your finger on. Nice enough it youre keen to smell like the above. On the other hand, I would rather wear Happy than this one, if I wanted to go in this direction. intense dislike. Smells like you're fresh out the shower and rubbed on some sunscreen. This used to be my signature scent, but after the company was purchsed my Coty, it was just not the same anymore. I get no floral. Pity cause I would totally buy this if it was better quality. This is a fresh-out-of-the-shower subtle clean scent that never offends. When wearing this, people never ask what perfume i'm wearing, they always just comment on how good I smell.

There are many complaints online and at the Coty website about the change in scent, all asking for the original formula to be brought back. 
As someone who adores a very soapy floral, I really like this. It smells feminine, sophisticated, and clean. Philosophy makes fragrances I can wear without irritating my allergies or giving me headache. Smells like a mosquito repellent to me. Oh no. It is clean and soapy with a little muskiness, IMO. Longlasting Roses. I don't sense any of the top notes unfortunately, but sense the clean, white floral scent. I normally love fresh scents, but this smells so cheap. The nose behind this fragrance is Tanya Petrakov. I've only tried vintage EdP. And I feel that's where this scent wanted to become, not just another "fragrance" or "perfume" but a scent. Coty, what have you done?! Opens with fresh, juicy citrus, followed by sweet, clean white flowers and rose, finished up with a generous dose of soapy laundry musk. Not my cup of tea. I smell that type of scent in the air often, especially among more mature women, but I never liked it to begin with. I've been wearing Estee Lauder for nearly 50 years, so you know I have no patience with weak perfume, especially when it's expensive weak perfume. Dissapears after 45 minutes. This is blandness in perfume form. After a couple hours I really have to concentrate in order to smell ittoo bad :(. There's a lot of musk, and I was hit with a lot of it upon first spray and sniff. My only protest about this is the faintness. I've always been curious about this line and it has been picked up by my favorite department store. If we could use the term "starter" scent, this should be under the definition and close to the top of the list. I'd be happy for my clothes to smell like this, but not me. Even though it is not all that expensive, I can't justify the cost of it because it doesn't seem to last more than 15 minutes on me. This was a soft powdery musk on me, I don't think it worked with my body chemistry and I ended up donating it. Pretty inoffensive for the most part, it's not going to be my signature scent or anything but I will definitely use my whole bottle. There is a children's book with the title 'A sound like someone trying not to make a sound' well this perfume reminds me of that book, a perfume trying not to be a perfume. I don't quite understand how most of the Fragrantica folks are getting so much musk, as it isn't that musky on me, but we all know how the same fragrance will perform differently on different people. It's clean and well put together, but utterly unremarkable. 
The amount of different comments Ive gotten on this perfume is hilarious. None of the sweetness from jasmine or rose emerges, just the fresh white floral aspect. Kind of similar to the small white bottle of narciso rodriguez. It drys down with small amounts of rose and jasmine. I can smell a strong/harsh citrus soap and maybe a tiny bit of some kind of flower, no softness at all in this! Seeing the mixed reviews here I avoided this one for a good long while. Sprayed some Amazing Grace on my wirst and went on my way. Relatively inoffensive & nothing to write home about. Same with Pure Grace. Smells like laundry detergent. Was in Macy's today. And what is even better is the body lotion. This scent is lovely, clean and soft. Inoffensive soapy floral. If you like the scent of dirty laundry masked by fabric softener sheets, maybe try this. Smells very clean like your clothes are clean and you have showered without doubt but totally unremarkable and mundane. I really like this one for an inoffensive, everyday-friendly perfume. Quick tip : layer this with Molecule 01. I have not experienced poor longevity. Amazing Grace USED to be a fabulous beautiful perfume with light clean floral tones and a strong sillage with longevity but no more ever since the product line was bought out by Coty around 2007. This new bottle still has the same lovely scent but it is so weak. Or was the original formula sabotaged? This is just okay but I compared the old one with the new label one and the old one is much better. I really like it, it brings back good memories of summer and family vacations. and it's a good squeaky clean scent on its own. But as it dries down, the screechy musky soap dies down and it becomes bearable. I don't think it's anything special, and I wouldn't compliment a scent like this, but it's nice. But, this musk is killing me. Longevity is pretty terrible. I wore this one on my wedding day, but I was somewhat disappointed at its major lack of sillage and longevity. But I'm not a big fan of clean powdery scents. It's not even skin scent. I guess it's the very acidic smelly citrus, like graprfruit/orange/lime mixed with some flowers (rose? While I like soapy fragrances sometimes, I don't think that I like smelling like shampoo. I made myself wear it for a whole day, I tried layering it, I even made sure I had a pre-Coty bottle (thanks eBay!) It's a very fresh floral with freesia and rose over clean musk. Initially, I can smell the citrus, but that quickly disappears. Great for everyday wear. I had been working my way through a large bottle, which I finished. Other days it starts off harsh and alcoholic, evolving into a clingy citrus-musk that lasts on my skin even after vigorous scrubs with rubbing alchohol/vinegar/baking soda. ish.). Like maybe their bottle got old? And especially for a young girl just starting out with perfume. Someone mentioned it smells like nail polish remover and I agree. When I started on fragrantica in 2010 this was one of the first scents I reviewed (the review is gone). I don't see anything 'clean' and 'fresh' about it -. It does not really smell like perfume, since it only smells nice and clean, like fresh washed clothes. 
I smell no citrus notes. The initial citrus notes arent my favorite but the dont last long. @Bilgentolis, can you tell me how a grandma would smell differently than any other woman in the same situation? Nothing spectacular, just gently fresh, clean and pretty. That one is a bit more interesting to me. Blind bought this today and tested it.. The label on the bottom has a copyright of 2004. It seems to have pretty good longevity, though, for a "light" fragrance. 
The only drawback. I once loved this scent very much. Do not recommend it. This is how grandmothers and nicer assisted living homes smell. I know a lot of people have said that Coty may have messed around with it so I'm conscious that the reformulation may be what's made it less appealing. I think of this more as a comfort scent to wear to bed or to just snuggle up with under a blanket with a book. 
However the longevity and sillage suck. lol, Amazing Grace is a clean and fresh fragrance. I received a sample bottle with an item I purchased and am glad I didn't pay for this. Whatever, sis. I kept smelling this soapy smell and thought I still had soap on my hands, until I realized it was actually the perfume! Get through the first 15 minutes and I reckon youll actually quite like this. It is a clean, innocent scent. my moms signature scent lol she wore it all the time when i was growing up so i always think of her when i smell it. Its a lovely clean scent , reminds me of benefit maybe baby, smells like a big warm fresh floral bubble bath. And I can reapply. I lay now, having sprayed Angel Nova on the jacket next to me before going to bed, somehow oozing in Amazing Graces ever familiar smell that rubbed off onto me from a pajama shirt I accidentally sprayed with it a few days ago. Gives me a headache too. This stuff is lovely. Very lady like and soft, with a touch of familiar cozynessI feel like it reminds me of a hug from someone and me catching the scent warm against their skin. So I tried it at Dillard's then at Ulta. Oh well, life would be boring if we all had exactly the same aesthetic sense. Kind of like "the girl next door".Amazing Grace does its job well. A nice clean floral scent. I literally have to bathe in this scent for it to last only a few hours, if I'm lucky, as it wears off promptly after spraying. Especially in combo with the lotion. 
What remains is a soft freesia that stays very close to the skin despite my going heavy on the trigger. . Amazing Grace is really out of character for me, but I think if I can get past the soapy/sunscreen bit at the beginning, then it could be a promising addition to my collection, because it smells like #adulting and I honestly need that vibe in my life. Someone could walk by and if this scent wafted to my nose, I would find it very pleasant. It actually smells very clean. 
I really enjoy this scent. The problem with it though is that I wonder if anyone else can even smell it because it's so light! 
But I still use it by layering it with other perfumes or cheap flowery colognes I have. I normally do not like a soapy or powdery smell but this is just heavenly. Its what I wear when Im feeling vulnerable. Soft floral. Find the vintage version if you can. Now it cannot even compare. It took me awhile to test this one properly because the first sample I got was a bad one and smelled awful. Well, Amazing Grace is a breeze of fresh air. Beautiful clean fragrance. First blast of screechy heady white florals that immediately dissipates and becomes subdued. It's more of a personal preference but I just don't like that kind of musk, which reminds me of a more tamed deer musk. Clean. It's not loud, it's not over-bearing. A friend and I beelined straight for Mecca Cosmetica to spritz ourselves with this perfume. I don't like it. I smelled this on a lady years ago and asked her what she was wearing. So good on you Philosophy!!!! Inoffensive, beautiful, not the strongest, but everyone loved it. I smell iridescent bubbles floating on a bubble bath. So ladies this is what your mans mum wants you to smell like lol!!! It's mostly clean white musk and unspecified white flowers. its very nice and timeless any age can wear it. To my nose it is scratchy and quite cold. The musk is not sharp. Sillage is pathetic and I dont see the longevity being anything to write home about, but as a quick little spritz straight out of the shower, it aint bad. Regardless, I love unusual scents and this reminds me of clean cotton sheets at an expensive hotel and shiny bathrooms with light blue and cotton flower blue tile, all of that located at the beach.
